How every spec compares in the simulator. At level 60 each spec wears its own BiS list - the Raid List (epic) or the Dungeon List (rare) - at levels 50 and 30 the same standard gear for its role.
Damage DPS
Healing HPS
Tanking effective health
Default talents, 1,000 fights of 60 seconds against a boss 3 levels higher. Level 60: the best item of every slot on the spec's BiS list, no enchants. Each damage and healing spec uses its best race, racials included (tanks race-neutral). Click a spec to see its gear, talents, buffs and damage breakdown. Your own gear and talents change the order - sim your character.
How it works
- 1
Paste your armory link
We read your level, spec, gear, enchants and set bonuses from the armory page. If the armory won't load, upload the saved page.
- 2
We sim your character
Your spec's own engine plays the rotation 1,000 times against a raid boss - ranks, mana, procs, trinkets and talents included.
- 3
See the gain per slot
Every item you could wear is ranked by what it adds over your equipped item: +DPS, +HPS for healers, +effective health for tanks.
Built for World of Warcraft: Forever
What Forever Upgrades does, and why its numbers come from a simulator instead of a list.
Upgrades you can trust
Most gear lists tell you what is good for a class. Forever Upgrades tells you what is better for your character. When you paste your armory link or your Forever Upgrades addon export, we read every item you wear - its stats, enchants, set bonuses and trinket effects - and simulate your character a thousand times against a raid boss. Then we try every item that fits each of your seventeen slots and keep only the ones that raise your damage, healing or survivability.
Because the comparison starts from your own gear, the same item can be a big upgrade for one player and none at all for another. A Fire mage who is already at the hit cap gets nothing from more hit; one who isn't gets a lot. That is the difference a simulation makes.
Every class and spec
All nine classes and 27 specs have their own simulation engine with the rotation a good player uses - Hot Streak Pyroblasts for Fire, seal twisting for Retribution, Maelstrom Weapon for Enhancement, Riptide and Chain Heal for Restoration shamans. Healers are measured in healing per second and tanks in effective health, so every role gets a number that means something for it.
Made for Forever, not Classic
World of Warcraft: Forever changes a lot: new talents like Ice Lance, Wrack and Lava Burst, new abilities such as Penance, Prayer of Mending and Wild Growth, Heroic Strike that is no longer a next-swing attack, demons that scale with your gear and the new Camping system. Forever Upgrades is built from the Forever game client's own data - items, spells, talents and recipes - so the numbers follow Forever's rules rather than Classic guides.
More than upgrades
Next to Find Upgrades you will find a talent calculator with every Forever tree, best-in-slot lists for dungeons and raids at levels 30 to 60, a guide for every spec with its stat priority, rotation and changes, Sim DPS with the damage of every ability, and a professions database with every recipe, its reagents and where to learn it.
Everything is free, and nothing needs a login or an API key.
Questions
Do I need to log in or give an API key?
No. Paste the public armory link of any character. If the armory is down, save the character page in your browser and upload the file.
Why does it show "+X DPS" instead of my total DPS?
The number that matters when you pick gear is the difference: how much an item adds over the one you already wear. Your simulated total is shown once at the top of the results.
How are healers and tanks scored?
Healers by healing per second into a raid mix (tank plus a five-player party) with mana that has to last the fight. Tanks by effective health against a level 63 boss: dodge, parry, block, armor and Defense all count.
Which talents does it use?
A default build for your spec and level, or your own build if you paste a talent calculator link under Options.
Are the numbers exact?
They're simulations, so each has a small error shown next to it, and some effects (mostly retail-only or location-only procs) are listed as not simulated. Use them to compare items, not as a promise of your meter.
